From the very primitive time human being discerned the necessity of communication without which there are no possibilities of sharing or exchanging signals, ideas, knowledge, emotions, or thoughts in this world. The medium through which man accomplishes these activities is called a communication channel. Communication channels require a sender, a receiver, and a channel.
It can take several forms, including vocal, nonverbal, written, and visual. Electronic and digital forms of communication are now available, thanks to technological advancements. Each mode of communication has its own worth and does not trump the others.
It may be classified into different distinct categories on the basis of the various methods, processes, channels and styles used for them.
But on the basis of size and number we may categorize communication as follows:
1. Intrapersonal Communication
2. Interpersonal communication
3. Group Communication
