From the very primitive time human being discerned the necessity of communication without which there are no possibilities of sharing or exchanging signals, ideas, knowledge, emotions, or thoughts in this world. The medium through which man accomplishes these activities is called a communication channel. Communication channels require a sender, a receiver, and a channel.

It can take several forms, including vocal, nonverbal, written, and visual. Electronic and digital forms of communication are now available, thanks to technological advancements. Each mode of communication has its own worth and does not trump the others.

It may be classified into different distinct categories on the basis of the various methods, processes, channels and styles used for them.

But on the basis of size and number we may categorize communication as follows:

1. Intrapersonal Communication

2. Interpersonal communication

3. Group Communication

4. Mass Communication

1. Intrapersonal Communication

Intrapersonal Communication is a process of communication that occurs within a person. According to Jules Lafarge's theory of De-doublement human psyche is consists of two selves: one is inner and the other is outer and communication occurs between these two selves. It generally happens during decision-making, listening, and determining self-concept.

2. Interpersonal communication

It happens when information or ideas is exchanged between two or more people. This may be subdivided into dyadic communication, public speaking, and small-group communication.

3. Group Communication

It occurs when information or ideas are exchanged among two or more groups called Group Communication.

4. Mass Communication

It occurs when a small group of people uses specialized communication media to convey messages to a largely anonymous and typically heterogeneous group of people.

As the most effective means of mass communication that has come to us is telecommunication.

telecommunication includes: Telephone, Television, Telegraph and its latest invented medium called the Internet.

Now the most respected MNCs and corporate giants have involved themselves in this telecommunication business discerning its future perspective.

Telus is among them facilitating telecommunication services all over Australia and abroad with special stress on cheap business phone lines. Their services are dedicated to those who look for cheap business phone call packages. The company has gained sky-rocketing popularity in Australia for facilitating its client's cheap business calls and unlimited business calls.

Recently, I was talking to a funeral director about a marketing "guru" that his firm hired to train them on how to be more effective. As I pressed to find out what new information they had been taught, I was alarmed to discover that the "cutting edge strategy" they had learned was to script every part of their communication with a family! That's right, everything was scripted!

I have spent the good part of the past 21 years communicating for a living. After delivering 5,000 + speeches, authoring hundreds of articles and writing speeches for and consulting with political candidates, business owners and authors, I feel that I can address this topic with some authority. Every communication expert will agree that when someone reads or recites a script they sound, well, scripted! When a family enters your funeral home, they don't need to hear a canned presentation, rather they need someone who will take an interest in their loved one, learn what's important to them and then design a service that will celebrate that person's life! That can't be scripted. So what's the alternative? Be prepared! And the kind of preparation to which I am referring takes much more thought, care and time. Here are a few suggestions.

Why you have everything you need to be a great communicator right now

The relief and emotion on the rescued Chilean miners' and their families' expressions were priceless. As they praised the men who had taken them to the surface after 69 days underground, I was moved to tears.

A moment like that has an indelible impact, and the visceral feeling it can elicit serves as a reminder of humanity's powerful bond. It is via this link that outstanding communicators are able to communicate effectively. More than perfected abilities or prepared speech, authenticity will always pull us in.

For example, just the other night, my friend shared the incredible experience of hearing Mother Theresa speak at a Presidential Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. years ago. The picture at this meeting is the leaders from churches and representatives of organizations from around the world. Of course, our President and First Lady (at this time it was President Clinton) are there seated at the dais as Mother Theresa speaks:

Not with her movements or oratory talents, but with her simplicity of purpose and genuine feeling, she grabs this audience of hundreds of people. Her compassion for children and enthusiasm for her work captivates an audience that has been listening to political speeches practically every day for decades.

Soft-spoken and humbly dressed, Mother Theresa is considered one of the most captivating keynote speakers in the history of those Presidential Prayer Breakfasts.

I do not mean to dilute the value of lessons learned; skills are extremely important. I teach them on a daily basis, but the number one ingredient to communicating on a memorable emotional level is authenticity.

Release your cares of what others think of you, your outfit, your hair, your business experience and share, with transparency, your passion. Not only will you connect more, but you will also have a sense of freedom that you will never want to give up once you experience it!

This may appear to be easier said than done. It may take the assistance of a coach to overcome any assumptions or concerns that are preventing you from becoming a fully authentic communicator, but it will be well worth it!
